Distinguish selling software from using software to redesign a market. Before claiming disruption, identify exactly what changes—such as the customer experience, supply model, economics, or competitive boundaries—and whether that creates a durable advantage.
Calling any technology-enabled improvement “disruption” can hide weak strategy. Naming the actual mechanism helps founders test whether they are creating a new market structure or simply offering another software tool.
Complete this sentence: “We are not merely digitizing ___; we are changing ___ for customers and suppliers, which gives us an advantage because ___.”
