Source excerpt

Could your salespeople pass an industry cocktail party test? Could your marketing copy? Inspired by the dogs in Terminator, I built an AI skill to flag writing that sounds like it came from an industry outsider.

What a founder can learn

Founder takeaway

Test sales and marketing language for genuine industry fluency. If your team’s words would expose them as outsiders in a conversation among customers, the message needs sharper vocabulary, context, and customer understanding.

Why it matters

Buyers use language as a proxy for credibility. Copy and sales conversations that feel detached from industry realities can weaken trust before the value proposition gets a fair hearing.

Put it to work

Review one sales deck or landing page and ask: “Which phrases would sound unnatural or uninformed to an experienced customer, and how would they express these ideas instead?”
