Collaboration and inclusion become bureaucracy when every decision requires broad consensus. Preserve their benefits by assigning clear decision owners and limiting who must be consulted.
Without explicit decision rights, well-intended participation can slow execution, dilute accountability, and favor stability over necessary change.
For one stalled decision, name a single owner, identify the few people whose input is essential, and set a deadline after which the owner decides.
