About KellblogKatie Prescott’s biography of Mike Lynch is a compelling read with particular relevance in today’s AI boom. My review explores the danger of sustaining an aura of success, the difference between loyalty and truth, and the questions I wish the book had pressed harder.

In an AI boom, explicitly separate what your product can prove today from what you believe it may deliver later. Treat current capabilities, roadmap commitments, and long-term possibilities as different categories—not one sales narrative.
Abundant capital and elevated expectations can reward ambitious stories, but blurred claims lead to weak decisions, misplaced investment, and disappointed customers. Clear evidence boundaries help founders allocate resources and build trust.
Review your pitch deck, website, and sales script: label each major AI claim as demonstrated, planned, or speculative. What should you validate, qualify, or remove?
