Set an explicit policy that AI notetakers do not automatically join or record board meetings; treat their presence as a deliberate governance decision, not a default convenience.
As automated recording becomes routine, it can enter boardroom workflows without anyone consciously deciding that it belongs there. Clear boundaries keep founders and directors aligned on how these meetings are conducted.
Before your next board meeting, ask: “Are any AI notetakers invited by default, and what explicit rule should govern whether they can attend?”
