What a founder can learn
Founder takeaway
Before building another feature, talk to people who considered your product but did not buy. Their objections can reveal whether the real barrier is missing value, unclear positioning, poor timing, or another buying constraint—not a lack of functionality.
Why it matters
Coding is a comfortable response for technical founders, but more features will not fix a misunderstood or unconvincing offer. Learning directly from non-buyers helps you focus scarce product effort on the obstacles that actually prevent adoption.
Put it to work
Interview five recent non-buyers this week. Ask: “What were you hoping to solve, what stopped you from choosing us, and what would have needed to be true for you to buy?” Group the answers by recurring barrier before changing the roadmap.
